A quick resume of 2011

I started the year by asking: Is 2011 going to be the Year that 'Made in Britain' makes its mark?

And, over the last 12 months, I have seen a real push to try and promote 'Made in Britain'.

Early in the year, as part of the Festival of Britain Power and Production Weekend, A Made in Britain debate on the future of manufacturing in the UK took place at at the Southbank Centre

The Associate Parliamentary Manufacturing Group set up a campaign to create a 'Made in Britain' parliamentary map showcasing an industrial firm in each constituency.
The campaign coincides with an initiative launched by Parliament to promote everything Made By Britain at the London 2012 Olympics, inspired by the Great Exhibition of 1951, which promoted British industry and was the world's first international exhibition of manufactured products.

John Lewis is to promote British-made goods in its stores to support this country's manufacturing base.
The department store will identify all domestically sourced products with a Union flagged 'Made in UK' label which will go on lines made by 130 British manufacturers.

British kitchen appliance manufacturer Stoves announced their Made in Britain marque

Sir Alan Sugar spoke in the House of Lords UK Manufacturing Industry Debate

The official range of commemorative china to celebrate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee has been made in the Potteries.

The new Jensen Interceptor will be made in Britain

A number of manufacturers have chosen to return to Britain for their manufacturing base.

Finally, it's just left for me to wish you the compliments of the Season.
